About

Oakland Community Theater is preparing for a memorable 16th annual Car Show & Shine this coming Saturday, May 11th.  Registration begins at 8:00 am, and the show runs from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.  Classic cars fill Locust street from many eras with a promise to bring back fond memories for those strolling up the street to the melodies of The Neil Johnson Band, performing live at the event.

A “classic” is defined as a car that is 30 years or older; the classes of vehicles competing include:
CAR Classes:
Antique (pre-1930)
1930 – 1939
1940 – 1949
1950 – 1959
1960 – 1969
1970 – 1989
TRUCK Classes:
1959 & older
1960 – 1989

Last year’s show registered over 150 cars and trucks, quite a show for our little city.  Winners in each category of the show will be chosen by popular vote and announced at 2:30 pm.  Be sure to pick up a ballot at the registration table.

Oakland businesses will be open for the event.  Antique shops and dining establishments invite patrons to enjoy a fun day in the historic downtown.
Don’t miss the excitement! Come and join the fun at the Oakland Car Show & Shine. The weather promises to be warm and sunny!

The Oakland Community Theater is proud to present the annual Car Show and Shine in Historic Oakland, Oregon. All proceeds from this show offset the costs of the summer melodrama productions presented each year since 2001.

The Community Theater’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Oakland by offering an opportunity for all members of the community to participate in vintage theater. The group is particularly proud of encouraging youth to take part in these productions as actors and behind-the-scenes technicians. Annual monetary gifts are made to various groups as well to local high school drama classes to enhance their productions.

OCT is a non-profit organization.
